Sutton, MA
It is a bit of a hike to get out to Sutton from Southie, but Blackstone National seems to pop up on a lot of "Best Public Courses in Massachusetts" list so I was curious to see what they would bring to the table. They do a nice job of trying to “class” up the place. All about the show… Rees Jones design, complimentary range balls, GPS in all the carts, ranger staying on top of pace of play, club scrubbing after the round. But for me – I could care less about the perks especially when all those perks add to the price..$91 gets you a tee time on a weekend morning and that’s a joke. I played it at the super twilight rate of $50 and even then I felt a little cheated. It’s a good, not amazing course; I expected a more classic design from the “US Open doctor” but overall it had some memorable holes. Be nice to play if you are in a fundraiser or work is picking up the tab but not worth your own money especially if you're not crushing it financially.
It’s your classic superficial babe… She tricks ya to thinking she might be hot with the designer jeans, wavy blond hair, heels, and big sunglasses… but when she wakes up in the morning you gotta rethink if you would do it again.
